Ostela, one of the major members of the Western Alliance, is a theocratic nation that expands from the borders of Bruaca, all the way to the western edge of Neperus. Many of the citizens of Ostela do not care for the war or their nation’s involvement. Commanding none of the leadership of Bruaca, the innovation of Neperus, nor the resources of the Nine Holds, Ostela’s main involvement is simply out of logistical necessity, existing between the aforementioned nations. While many benefited from the introduction of the rails through the center of the nation many more suffered as a result of it.

The Onyx Jungle

While formally part of the borders of Ostela, the Onyx Jungle poses a strikingly different environment to the rest of the nation it finds itself apart of. Now a small corner of the nation, the great Onyx Jungle used to stretch from the coast all the way to the mountains in the north, making up half of what are now the borders of Ostela. An untamed wild, adventurers from far and wide come to Ostela to attempt to find whatever treasures they may. While recent efforts at sending missionaries in to the remaining jungle have been made, only small pockets of religious groups can be found inside the modern borders of the jungle. The remaining tribes and clans of the jungle hold a fierce hatred for those of the faith because of the long history of oppression and colonization brought down on them by the Church of Ostela.
